Second Territorial Survey of Clay County
E. N. Dickerson was a large land holder in Range 23. The Florida Railroad had received extensive odd-tract grants in 1858 in connetion with its building a line from Fernandina to Cedar Key, passing just outside Clay County. Dickerson was its Treasurer, and coincidentally married to William Travers’ daughter. Dickerson, Savage (also a landowner) and others bought a ship to blockade run during the Civil War.
