Tara S. Green – Clerk of Court and Comptroller

Welcome to the access point for the Clay County Historical Archives, a service of Clerk of Court and Comptroller Tara S. Green. While nearly all of our county’s modern official records are available online through the main website, historic hard copy records (1850’s – 1970’s) are stored in the Archives Center at the Old County Jail. The Archives Center is now a hub of information for genealogical enthusiasts, history students and researchers of historical material.

The mission of the Clay County Historical Archives is to effectively identify, organize and preserve records and artifacts of enduring value in various formats related to Clay County history. The Archives ensures the accessibility of these records and artifacts entrusted to it for the use of both present and future generations. The Archives is committed to promoting programs and providing resources that increase public awareness of and appreciation for Clay County, Florida. Clay County Clerk of Court and Comptroller Tara S. Green appreciates her staff’s ongoing effort to make our county’s archives one of the best in state. We hope you find some valuable nuggets in our gold mine of Florida history.
